Almost every day on Finca Barucito we encounter a new species of bird, animal, or insect. As we and our neighbors continue the ongoing reforestation, many animals have been spotted that have been absent for many years. Some of these include: Howler Monkey, Kinkajou, Scarlet Macaw, Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot, Sloth, Tapir, and many Frogs and Lizards. There are a variety of snakes, both non-poisonous and poisonous, though they are seldom seen. Costa Rica is home to a huge variety of bird species, many that nest here and many that migrate through our lush jungles. Using our binoculars and identification guides, one may pass quiet hours viewing these stunning tropical creatures.
